School Finder

Check if an address is in a government school's local enrolment area (catchment). See nearby schools with Yes / No / No data / N/A where official data is available.

Years 1–6 use primary catchments; Years 7–12 use secondary catchments (also called local enrolment areas; some states officially say school zones).

📊 ABS QuickStats (POA0800)
Local Enrolment Area: No data

Official government catchment polygons are not published for NT in a form we can load. Nearby schools still appear. Local Enrolment Area is No data for government schools — that is not the same as No (outside a catchment). N/A is for non-government schools.

Use the department tool for the official local area, then confirm with the school. Ideal Home does not guess Yes or No.

This is address-to-area matching from official datasets where available — not a guarantee of enrolment. Always confirm with the school and the relevant education department.

Local Enrolment Area legend: Yes = address is inside the published catchment · No = outside · No data = catchment data unavailable for this state/year · N/A = non-government (does not apply)

Attendance figures here come from a NSW Extra Profile join. Other states show No data — we have not loaded a national public attendance file.

Understanding the data

These figures come from the national ACARA school profile. They help you compare a few relevant schools after the Local Enrolment Area answer is clear. They are not a ranking and not enrolment advice.

  • Local Enrolment Area: for government schools, whether this address falls inside the school's published catchment (also called intake area or school zone in some states). Yes = inside · No = outside · No data = catchment data unavailable for this state/year · N/A = non-government (does not apply). Address-to-area matching only — always confirm enrolment with the school and department.
  • Metrics empty labels: for ICSEA percentile, attendance, LBOTE, FOEI and other profile figures, missing values show as No data (we do not have that figure). N/A is for Local Enrolment Area on non-government schools, and for NSW program flags (selective / opportunity class) only when that NSW record exists and the flag does not apply. Government schools without that NSW extra profile — including WA/NT — show No data for those flags, not N/A.
  • ICSEA Percentile. ICSEA percentile describes the socio-educational context of the school community compared with other Australian schools. A higher percentile is not “a better school.”
  • Attendance. Attendance is the share of students attending on a typical day in the labelled year. Our current join is NSW Extra Profile only, so schools outside that join (including most outside NSW) show No data. National 2025 attendance is not a public bulk file we have loaded.
  • LBOTE. LBOTE is the share of students with a language background other than English.
  • Total enrolments. Total enrolments is school size. Size bands (smaller / mid / larger) are only relative to the schools you compare — not a national rank.
  • Girls enrolments / Boys enrolments. Girls and boys enrolments are student counts from the national school profile, not a ranking and not the school’s single-sex or co-ed type. Missing values show as No data.
  • Kindergarten / Prep / Year 6 enrolments / Year 7 enrolments / Year 12 enrolments. Kindergarten/Prep, Year 6, Year 7 and Year 12 counts come from ACARA Enrolments by Grade 2025 (one year before Year 1 is Kindergarten/Prep). Years the school does not offer show as N/A. Missing counts show as No data. Not a ranking and not used to sort results.
  • Indigenous enrolments %. Indigenous enrolments % is community context, shown in neutral wording.
  • SEA quarter mix. SEA quarters show the mix of socio-educational advantage in the school community (bottom through top quarters).
  • FOEI. FOEI (Family Occupation and Education Index) is a school-level measure of educational disadvantage used in NSW resource allocation (higher = more disadvantage). Missing values show as No data.

Ideal Home is not a school ratings database. Default order is Local Enrolment Area Yes first, then distance. My School is ACARA’s official school profile. We link out by school ID; we do not copy their tables or rankings.

Confirm with the school: Local Enrolment Area results are a first-pass match against published catchment data. Enrolment rights, capacity, and policies vary — always confirm with the school and department before relying on a result. Something look wrong? Send feedback (optional — helps us improve).
Note: Official government catchment polygons are not published for NT in a form we can load. Nearby schools still appear. Local Enrolment Area is No data for government schools — that is not the same as No (outside a catchment). N/A is for non-government schools. Check priority enrolment area maps (NT Education) · Why this is No data, not No · Catchment FAQ Use the department tool for the official local area, then confirm with the school. Ideal Home does not guess Yes or No.

Core results and Local Enrolment Area status above already work. Map and address autocomplete use paid Google features — enable them from the form if you want the map.

Optional: log in to load the map and address autocomplete (paid Google features). Core school and catchment results above work without a map.

This search stays free. Optional donations are cost recovery for hosting and address lookup — not access to catchment polygons or ACARA rows. Local Enrolment Area stays free either way.
