This page lists the official datasets Ideal Home uses for government school catchments (also called local enrolment areas, intake areas, or school zones by state) where they’re available, plus notes about coverage limitations.

Note: Catchments and enrolment policies can change. Always confirm with the relevant department and the school.
Local Enrolment Area labels: Yes/No when catchment data is available · No data when unavailable (e.g. WA/NT, or unloaded SA mapping) · N/A for non-government schools (does not apply).
School list / metrics: ACARA School Profile, School Location, and Enrolments by Grade 2025. Expand/compare shows Kindergarten/Prep, Year 6, Year 7 and Year 12 counts (N/A if that year is not offered). Where a school has an ACARA SML ID in that profile, results include a My School link-out. Schools still waiting on a national profile (Profile pending) are not linked — My School has no page for those IDs yet.
